Spent the weekend playing Sacajawea, trekking the great wilderness with some strange men (ok, they’re not quite strange but rather amusing pals of mine). And while the photo above appears as though I am an expert guide … I was just as lost as the lot of them.
As soon as I say I’m going to take a fitness photo a day, a million awesome significant events fall into my fiance and I’s laps, thus causing a busy week w/ no time for blogging. Instead of recapping & going into detail about what caused these significant events I will just post yesterday’s adventure to Pikachu Picacho Peak!
The fun little trails in this area are unfortunately going to be shut down (aka, state’s spending goes to meaningless shit like buying Wii’s for UA student recreational, building a new fitness center in a glass building, turtle ponds, grants to people majoring in 18th century literature with an emphasis on circumcision –I kid you not, thereby causing the budget to be infinity dollars in deficit causing cutbacks on programs like park maintenance) so my love & I hooked up w/ buddies to go adventuring there!
Apparently there was some little skirmish in Tucson… who knew?
So ready to run this trail! Little did we know, the trails we went on were as steep as Kim Kardashian’s ass w/ rocky & loose debris (dirt, pebbles, rocks) everywhere (on the trails that is. I don’t know if there’s loose debris on Kim Kardashian’s ass –something is loose there but I’m pretty sure it’s not debris). We only ran in areas here & there in short distances.
Lover pretending to summit the “peak” w/ the help of Ben…
Usually I led the pack considering this view was a bit distracting… *poke*
Today marks the 2nd day of not drinking soda or eating candy. Today also marks the 1st day I’m going to attempt a fitness 365.
Notice the emphasis on the word “attempt”.
I’ve always failed at photography 365’s in the past so I imagine this one will be no different. Therefore I’m calling this a 260 since I do take a break from running 1 day out of the week (usually Monday, but not always). I’m also taking into account the days where I’m just going to be too busy (sometimes it’s hard to balance a full time job).
Or lazy. Let’s make that 230.
Or silly Tucson is flooding… Let’s make that 228.
Or it’s summer time & it’s….. ‘extremely hot, several million degrees’ out. Just like the earth’s core (right Al Gore? *wink*wink*)…. But in all seriousness, Tucson can get up to 113* in the summer. There’s no way in Hades I’m running outside in that.
Oh yeah, how could I forget. I’m getting married this year. Apparently weddings take a lot of work. Especially when you’re a creative guru (ie a marketing & design director) & feel that it can’t be done right unless done yourself. & moving. Will that count as a work out? Hmmm… So, let’s call this the “200 Day Challenge”.
Food: Breakfast
Breakfast Parfait (I never get tired of this! Sooo delicious. I think it’s the Kashi… The taste reminds me of Golden Krisp –which I used to eat all the time as a kid)
(6 Oz Danon Light & Fit Vanilla Yogurt, 1/2 Cup Kashi Go Lean Honey Almond Flax Cereal, 1/2 Cup Fresh Blueberries, 1/2 Cup Fresh Strawberries)
Snack
I was going to have 1 cup of Edamame however these ended up going bad so I tossed them. & I know Soy Beans cause retention of abdominal fat for women… but they’re too yummy to refrain from. At least, when they haven’t gone bad…

AFTER WORK RUN
3 miles trail running @ w/ steep hills (couldn’t take pictures of route, was running w/ fiance –had to haul my ass. He runs at a much faster pace than I & my legs are a lot shorter. >_< I was too busy huffing & puffing. Had to keep telling the man to stop talking to me so I could save my breath)
1-2-3 SUCK IT IN!! Lighting is so horrible (so’s my face LOL).
FYI, fiance & I currently live in a family graduate apartment (he’s a grad student) that came furnished… hence the not so stylish room. The entire apartment is furnished in desert style (ie ugly color palette mix of brick reds, browns & blues). We’re moving off campus in May to a resort. Fantastic photos will ensue in May.
Will be shooting w/ the Kodak Easyshare I won in a 5K (instead of my Canon T1i/50d/7d/Powershot D10/Panasonic Lumix–told ya I’m a camera freak). It was free so I won’t feel so bad if I drop it. Which, I know I will considering I’ve dropped my iPhone twice already.
So for the next 200 or so, probably not consecutive days, I will be shoving food in front of my camera & perhaps even my slightly muscular calves. A 200 day fitness challenge… Feel free to join in & best of luck!
